Architecture in all its facets has accompanied and fascinated me for decades. The longer my professional career lasts, the more I learn and discover new things. This journey seems never-ending. On the one hand, building is becoming more and more complex in all areas. But on the other hand, the basic principles of architecture are still important and apply unchanged. Keeping things in balance is important to me. It’s always about a good balance between design and function, between costs and construction. In essence, it’s about finding the best balance between desires and possibilities. This is how we maximize quality in architecture, for our clients, investors and users, but also for the society.
After my studies at the UAS in Frankfurt and the ETH in Zurich I worked in different fields of architecture and construction management and started my own studio in 2006. At JOP Architekten I mainly deal with the overarching management and project issues. Nevertheless, it is important to me to stay as close as possible to the project work. That’s why I always try to manage my own projects, in addition to my work as CEO. Our project portfolio covers a wide range of areas and project sizes, from small roof extensions to large conversion and new construction projects. In recent years, we have been able to realize projects for many well-known corporate clients from various industries such as finance, tech, pharmaceutical and retail. But we are always open to new and exciting challenges!
It’s great when a professional collaboration develops into a long-term personal relation and friendship. I am very pleased that this has now led to membership of Open Architects. I am excited and looking forward to doing great projects together with my colleagues from the OA network.
